With the increasing popularity of law education in the country, a number of education hubs offering law education in India have emerged. Law education now offers new avenues of education and the way it was perceived traditionally, has undergone a lot of changes. There has been an increased demand of law professionals in all types of business, be it healthcare, hospitality or corporate. The scope has widened and this has aspired more and more students to take up law as a very promising career option. The most popular courses in law include intellectual property rights (IPR), environmental law, corporate law, capital market law and human rights. The options are increasing and have encouraged a large number of students to seek admissions in the best law colleges in the country.

Let’s take a look on the latest law education hubs in India.

Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, the largest city of Gujarat, has a number of options to offer.  It has emerged as one of the most popular destinations to study law. The most popular law school, which is the School of Law, Gujarat University, is the favorite among the law colleges in Ahmedabad because of the diversified course options offered by law colleges in Ahmadabad. The multitude of options available in the city makes it a hub for legal education.

Hyderabad

A number of law firms are opening up their offices in Hyderabad. Besides, a number of corporate firms and legal processing outsourcing units are also establishing their bases in Hyderabad. Being a renowned IT and corporate hub, a number of transactions is being witnessed by the city, among which many are under challenge in courts and demand executive actions. Such a scenario poses demand for law professionals who can take care of these proceedings and advice the employers. The most popular law institutes in the city, such as Faculty of Law, IFHE, Hyderabad, NALSAR University of Law, PG College of Law, and others   have provided the industry with the bright law professionals. However, there is a gap between demand and supply of such professionals. The demand is soaring and the number of professionals is yet less. The highest taker of such law professionals has been the corporate law sector, because of the immediacy of emoluments.

Chandigarh

Even smaller cities like Chandigarh and Mohali are emerging as preferred destination for legal education among the students. Law colleges like Faculty of Law, Panjab University, University Institute of Legal Studies, Department of Law, Punjab University, and many others have attracted students from not only Punjab and Haryana, but also other states.

In the current business environment, the requirement of Law professionals is getting higher day by day. It is now considered as a preferable career choice and this is clear with the increased competition to seek admissions in the best law colleges across country. The career as lawyer in India is extremely bright and students graduating from the top law colleges in India get placed in the corporate world at high remuneration packages. The industry experts suggest that the increased demand for such law graduates have made the profession more lucrative. As discussed, there are huge requirements of law professionals in industry, mainly with MNCs, NGOs and corporate firms. Hence, it is now government’s responsibility start up new law colleges across country that can impart quality law education to the aspirants.
