If you are someone who is a budding entrepreneur or an aspiring professional, there’s a pretty good chance you developed part of your drive by being inspired by someone else.

There are plenty of people that have become extremely successful by combining their genius with their strong work ethic, which is always something that is inspirational.

You can find many lists like this one from the Telegraph which compiles a number of impressive entrepreneurs who have relative rags-to-riches stories we can all be inspired by.

The likes of Sir Richard Branson, Alan Sugar or James Dyson are regular features on lists such as this. However, there is one thing these lists all have in common, they only contain men.

In fact, in the public eye, there is actually a district lack of lists which provide female entrepreneurial role models.

If you're an entrepreneur yourself, or any kind of aspiring professional, you'll likely have a number of inspirational role models who you look up to.

Perhaps it's Richard Branson, James Dyson, or the boss himself, Alan Sugar. However, at times, it can seem like there's an alarming lack of female entrepreneurs in the public eye.

We've taken a look at some of the world's most influential female entrepreneurs which we could all learn a lot from, no matter what our profession or gender is.

She continues to be committed to encouraging women to aim as high as possible even after the tragedy of losing her husband in 2015.

One of wealthiest female entrepreneurs in the world, Sara Blakely is a great example of how a simple idea can snowball into a multi-million-pound business.

Frustrated with the lack of hosiery options, she began snipping away at tights to create what has become the number one secret weapons in the fight against flab.

The Gates Foundation does lots of fantastic work in many areas such as education and global health.

With an estimated net worth of around £1.4 billion, she is now one of the richest black women in the world.

 

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah reall has done it all, and is one of the world's most successful women in the world today. While she's best known for her talk show, she's established herself as 'The Queen of All Media' and is believed to be Americas only black multi-millionaire.

What makes her successes all the more inspirational is the fact that she has never been married, making her a great role model for single women.
